As part of the James V. Brown Library’s 2009 Summer Reading Program, Be Creative @ Your Library the library is sponsoring a private performance of the musical Cinderella as part of the Community Theatre League’s run of the show.
The library’s performance will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 7pm. To be part of this event, the public must contact the library to register as there is limited seating. Participants are asked to be at the theatre no later than 6:30 that evening to ensure that the performance starts on time. Latecomers will be able to be admitted after the show begins at 7.
This musical retelling of the classic fairy tale has become an instant classic and its endearing story and lavish score enchant theatre-goers again and again. Forced to work in her own home by her evil stepmother and stepsisters, Cinderella dreams of daring adventures and excitement, and perhaps even love with a handsome prince. To register for this program contact the library at 326-0536.
Beat the Summer Slide,
Build an Eight Book Bridge
Losing reading skills over the summer is called the "summer slide". Reading as few as eight books creates a bridge between June and September. The James V. Brown Library and every other library in the Lycoming Library System make it easy and fun for your child to build an eight-book bridge. Your library offers well-planned, fun summer reading programs for our community's youngsters at no additional cost to parents. Read about the eight book bridge here!
