Welcome to the  James V. Brown Library's
2009 Adult Reading Program
Express Yourself @ Your Library

adult summer reading

How it works:

Read books throughout the summer from June 1st through August 31st and write a simple review of the book. Forms for the reviews can be found on the site here or at the library circulation desks. On the sheet will be instructions for the program and a list of the prizes you can win. It’s easy. It’s fun.

Why it’s important:

Research shows that children who are read to early and often will develop stronger language and reading skills that will help them be successful throughout their lives. When children enter school, reading during the summer helps them be ready for each new school year.

The best way to get children reading is for them to see adults reading. That makes you an important tool in our children’s success. The library’s summer reading program is the easiest and most fun way to get and keep kids ready to learn.

So, join the adult summer reading program and help us help children be ready for school in the fall
