Lycoming County Library System  - Instructions for Placing a Hold or Reserve an Item

Holds or reserves can now be placed on materials that are "on order" but not yet available at the library.
Now there is no need to call the library to see if something has been ordered. Just check the catalog.


If a book is on order. You will see the  ON-ORDER designation. Follow the steps below to place a hold.

1. When you find an item that is unavailable, that you would like to have as soon as it is available click on the "Details"  button.



When the "Details" screen opens. . .

 

2. Click on the Place Hold link under the "keep button.

3. Type in your library card number or Social Security number and your PIN number.  (If you don't know your 4 digit PIN number, contact your Library).

4. Don't forget to choose the library where you wish to pick up the materials.

Holds Disclaimer
You may place a hold on most items listed in the catalog. There are some exceptions.
 Maximum 25 holds per patron.

  • Newer and locally high demand items are available only at the owning library.
  • Holds may not be placed on fiction DVDs, bonus books, or reference items.
  • The pick-up library will notify you when the item is available.
  • To check the status of your hold, use the Review My Account feature when you click on My Account.
