Good grief! Charlie Brown!  It’s the great pumpkin!

Family Literacy families carved pumpkins together and shared an evening of fun at The Learning Center. Parents and children alike enjoyed the experience which for some was the first time carving a pumpkin.

Blanca and Andre, a mother and son who participate in the Learning Center’s English Language Learning program, make a wreath together during a Fall Family Fun Night.

 


Families involved in the Family Literacy program participate in a monthly Fun Night to welcome the Fall season. Families enjoyed storytelling, crafts, and refreshments designed to encourage reading and togetherness in the home.



Irina Plotnikova, a student in English Language Learning and Citizenship classes at The Learning Center was guest speaker at the annual Lasagna for Literacy Benefit.






Chris Smith and company were most entertaining as Cockney waitresses, the Dumpster Divas, for the Lasagna for Literacy Benefit. Other waiters included Dr. Kathleen Kelly, Lou and Emily Bassler, Amanda Emig, Barbara Wascher, and Major Steven Stoop.
