Do It Yourself Book Clubs

The James V. Brown Library has many resources, both online and in print, to get your book club up and running, and to keep it running
smoothly.

Demystify the process of choosing a book to discuss, organizing a group and facilitating the discussion. Explore our libraries collection of book discussion kits for use by new and established book groups.

Book Discussion Kits
We’ve put together book discussion kits based on the books in the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read program.

Each kit contains eight paperback copies of the book, (see "How JVB Can Help" below for details),  a copy of The Book Group Companion, and reading guides for each book.

The following book discussion guides can help make reading and talking about books more fun! Book discussion guides contain discussion questions and background material on the author and subject, as well as suggestions for further reading.

Interested in joining our online discussion group?  We're on Library Thing.  Visit Library Thing and take the tour. The group name is James V. Brown Library - Do It Yourself Book Club. On Library Thing click on "groups".  Contact Shawn Newcomer for the group username and password.
