Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Brown Library worked cooperatively to bring this one of a kind collection to the public. Many books are rare or limited editions, along with an impressive list of purely Pennsylvania authors. The collection of all things related to fishing is located on the third floor of the Brown Library

The Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited  proposed the special fishing collection to Brown Library as a way to add something permanent from their organization back to the community. Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited purchased hundreds of books and materials to enhance the already popular subject.

The centerpiece book of the Angler's Alcove is the volume Forgotten Flies, a 560-page coffee table book published by Complete Sportsmen, lavishly illustrated with hundreds of full-color fly plates, Forgotten Flies is a celebration of the roots of American fly tying. The local Trout Unlimited chapter donated two copies of the book to the Brown Library - one for circulation and one to remain always in the Reference Room.

Nationally, the Trout Unlimited mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds through a dedicated network of 125,000 volunteers in 500 chapters across the United States.
